RestaurantPlus kitchen display software (KDS) offers the following advantages:

KDS Hardware Requirements: 

  • RestaurantPlus KDS software should be installed on an industrial book-size PC, which is connected to a 14" or 15" CRT touch or non-touch screen mounted on an overhead ceiling mounting bracket

  • The PC must be connected to the network using an Ethernet cable or wireless connection

  • NO BUMP BAR REQUIRED - Install a 14"-15" CRT touch screen "or" install a 15" CRT monitor and install an inexpensive wireless Mouse instead of an expensive bump bar

The customer is responsible for installing all network cables and connections from a centrally located network switch (hub) and/or DSL/cable router, out to each point of sale (POS) station, Ethernet connected kitchen/bar printer, kitchen display system (KDS) and/or office file server. Use Category 5 or 6 Ethernet cable. Use a professional network cable installer. All network cables must be installed by a network cable installer prior to RestaurantPlus support technician’s arrival on-site.

 The customer is responsible for installing kitchen display system (KDS) ceiling bracket.  The KDS ceiling bracket must be installed by a carpenter, etc. prior to RestaurantPlus support technician’s arrival on-site. Ceiling bracket must be positioned near a 120v electrical outlet (within 3 feet). Refer to installation instructions included with ceiling bracket.

Installation & setup of local network, point of sale hardware and software systems, including network printer setup, must be performed by a trained computer professional. Work with a local point of sale systems installer and our Setup Manual.
